Luca Arturo Pavesi, a dentist from Monza, with a Research Doctorate in Experimental Periodontology and a 1st level Master’s degree in oral health in low-income countries. He has been a contract professor since 2015 for the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the University of Milan-Bicocca and a lecturer in the second level Master’s Degree in Global Health at the University of Milan.
Since 2020 he has been responsible for the Dentistry service at the FarmaSalus polyclinic of Farma.Com spa, a company owned by the Municipality of Monza. The project that he called “A smile for everyone” offers dental services for patients with problems of social fragility. Since 1997 he has been involved in international cooperation projects with numerous NGOs in low-income countries across four continents.
He is the founder of GIRSSOG (Italian group for research and development of global oral health, established in 2022) with the aim of developing study and research projects on oral health in low-income countries, according to WHO indications, experimenting with innovative models integrated into programs to combat non-communicable diseases.
As a Bicocca Global Health Center faculty, Dr. Pavesi recently visited the Lacor Hospital in Uganda, paving the way for student traineeship in Africa. Pavesi remains committed to providing access to healthcare and improving the lives of those less fortunate.
